Our onward flight to St Louis wasn't scheduled until 5pm so our plan had been to make as much of a day of it as possible, and perhaps take the girls up the Empire State Building or similar. We hadn't banked on sheet rain! It didn't make sightseeing appealing. We arrived in plenty of time for the 5pm flight and were really disappointed to find it delayed until 8pm. Thankfully we had a number of travel games that had been given to us by one of Abigail's school friends and boy, did that soak up a number of hours!
Finally we boarded the tiny little plane for St Louis, only 3 seats wide! It was quite magical coming into land at night with the whole of St Louis lit up, knowing nothing was ever going to be the same again in our family. All the while our little girl whispering 'I'm so nervous' as she has been regularly for the past couple of months. Oh, and St Louis was covered in a blanket of snow. The temperature was -12 degrees C !!!!!
Towards the end of the plane journey Abigail had realised she hadn't been fed tea so she then started to be interested in her next meal. We got a taxi to the hotel, checked in and found our room. By this point it was 11pm. So there we were ordering a pizza to be delivered and by midnight we were enjoying our midnight feast of 'The Works' and BBQ Buffalo Wings. The girls thought this was really exciting. It was shortly after 2am that Tim and I had finally finished our list of questions for the physio and for our meeting with Dr Park that morning. We fell into bed utterly exhausted and full of worry about what that meeting would unfold.
