Even getting into the session proved to be difficult as Abi was still tired from the previous days efforts and she was not willing to walk too far in a single go but with encouragement and bribery we eventually got her to the session. The session went fairly well with Abi doing another "stool distancing" run along the room, sit to stands and single knee sitting. She was however still tired and was not that happy to try too hard. The video recorded her in her walker with the new directional wheels, pod walking and also single hand walking.

2 and half mins of walking on a treadmill
12 slides up and down a mirror
6 knee walking along the wall
2 flights of stairs and walking with hands along the corridor
This was a very good effort from Abigail and we had some fun in the afternoon with some sand sculptures. This was followed by some walking in the corridor and this is where we saw some of the really good improvements that are slowly coming to the fore...
The first thing she did was to walk out of the apartment and then slowly remove both her hands from her pods.. balancing for over 60 seconds with NO support for the first time in a long while. This was then followed by some very encouraging steps independently. We need to work on the balancing but it is clear that she is slowly getting back to her ability pre-op. Then Abigail showed Mum her stair walking in the hotel and also her walking with one hand. Carrie says that this is a really different feeling to that pre-op as Abigail is not so dependent on you for the balance and is really using it more like a crutch. We need to work on this in school and out when we return to the UK as this will really help her balance and walking skills.

We are so PROUD of all the effort she put in to try and please everybody and it is really important to her to see this from those she knows.
This evening we had a party with 3 of the 4 British families that are here in St Louis to celebrate leaving to go back the UK. Abigail and Talia had a lovely time chatting and playing with all the other kids and have gone to bed very tired.
